How ironic that it was Madara who named the village and yet in the end he wanted to destroy it. Maybe if Madara was recognized for his actions and given merit instead of being shunned by his clan this would not have happened. Looking back at it he had nothing left, because his brother died and his clan in his eyes are gone. Even though Hashirama was there for him I think he never felt it because he wasn't of his blood.

I feel like Hashirama was really ahead of his time when it came to making proper decisions, if Madara was the first Hokage as Hashirama wished, things would have been really different.

i feel for madara and understand why he went the way he did but it's still just so sad and frustrating how it went. i don't blame him for leaving the village. he most certainly didn't feel like he belonged, and with all the talk hashirama gave about him protecting the village, nobody seemed to want to be protected by him, not even his own clan. there's not really anybody to blame (besides tobirama a little) and that's what's so sad. it's so much easier to pinpoint all this trouble onto one person but it stemmed from an amalgamation of oversights and flaws from every direction from the distrust of the people to the nature of the uchiha to the somewhat naivete of hashirama. it's just, so depressing how it all ended

The first Hokage Hashirama is truly powerfull, that's why he is able to stop Madara. But he isn't really the only one. There are others aswell nowadays.

also kinda wack that they didn't even give madara a sculpture at the cliff being the co-founder and all. i get that it's a cliff of the faces of hokages and madara wasn't a hokage but he co-founded the village AND named it for god's sake he could get a little statue somewhere
